All of my snacking is really nostalgic! Tinned fish and crackers plus cookies and tea were my grandfather’s staples! He was the happiest person I’ve ever known and so we named our son after him. His eating habits inspire me to keep it simple.
Pistachios, salted, with the shell on. Sometimes you need protein AND an activity.
If I could only eat one snack for the rest of my life, it would be Potato Chips with ridges and cottage cheese—it’s my Mom’s guilty pleasure too. Kind of messy for the studio because of the inevitable greasy fingers, but it hits every time.
Tinned fish and Triscuits is the perfect meal—minimal clean up and the just right blend of texture, flavor, and crunch. My favorite is smoked oysters but I’m a big sardine fan too.
The strongest, darkest tea I can find—usually Irish Breakfast—made tan with milk and sugar.
I usually require cookies at 2pm because the afternoon slump hits me hard. They can be a bit hard to find, but the best ones are Pim’s Orange by Lu, they are soft like little cakes.
